FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The peak export season for Indian watermelons is during the summer months, specifically from February to June. During this window, the fruit develops its maximum sweetness (Brix level) and deep red color.
Watermelons are typically shipped in refrigerated or well-ventilated sea containers. We maintain a temperature of 10-15°C with moderate humidity to ensure the rinds remain firm and the flesh retains its crispness during long-distance transit.
We export premium varieties including 'Kiran' (noted for its dark green rind and high sweetness), 'Augusta', and 'Black Jack'. These varieties are selected for their uniform size, minimal seeds, and excellent travel resistance.
For bulk export, watermelons are packed in heavy-duty corrugated bin boxes or placed on a bed of straw in ventilated containers. When kept at optimal temperatures, Indian watermelons have an export shelf life of 15 to 21 days.
