Watermelon from India — sourced, graded and export-ready.

Indian watermelons are cherished for their deep red color, crisp texture, and powerfully refreshing thirst-quenching properties. We supply both seeded and premium seedless varieties, highly demanded across the Middle East during the sweltering heat. The 'Sugar Baby' and 'Kiran' (Black King) varieties offer excellent sugar concentration and travel well in bulk reefers.

Aethon Overseas supplies watermelon available as sugar baby, kiran / black king, seedless varieties. From trial samples to multi-container annual contracts, every lot is cleaned, graded and quality-checked before shipment — with a Certificate of Analysis, phytosanitary certificate and full export documentation included.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about sourcing watermelon from Aethon Overseas.

The peak export season for Indian watermelons is during the summer months, specifically from February to June. During this window, the fruit develops its maximum sweetness (Brix level) and deep red color.

Watermelons are typically shipped in refrigerated or well-ventilated sea containers. We maintain a temperature of 10-15°C with moderate humidity to ensure the rinds remain firm and the flesh retains its crispness during long-distance transit.

We export premium varieties including 'Kiran' (noted for its dark green rind and high sweetness), 'Augusta', and 'Black Jack'. These varieties are selected for their uniform size, minimal seeds, and excellent travel resistance.

For bulk export, watermelons are packed in heavy-duty corrugated bin boxes or placed on a bed of straw in ventilated containers. When kept at optimal temperatures, Indian watermelons have an export shelf life of 15 to 21 days.
