Fresh Bananas from India — sourced, graded and export-ready.

India is the world's largest producer of bananas. We export premium quality Robusta (Cavendish-type) and Grand Naine varieties globally. Known for their spotless green skin at shipping (turning bright yellow upon ripening), sweet flavor, and excellent shelf-life, our bananas undergo strict post-harvest washing, fungicide treatment, and cold-chain management.

Aethon Overseas supplies fresh bananas available as robusta / cavendish, grand naine, yelakki / elaichi, nendran. From trial samples to multi-container annual contracts, every lot is cleaned, graded and quality-checked before shipment — with a Certificate of Analysis, phytosanitary certificate and full export documentation included.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about sourcing fresh bananas from Aethon Overseas.

Yes, Indian bananas are available for export throughout the year. Due to the diverse climatic zones in India, we can maintain a steady supply of high-quality bananas regardless of the month.

We use dedicated reefer containers maintained at a strict temperature of 13.5°C with controlled ventilation and humidity. This 'cold chain' management is critical for halting the ripening process during sea transit.

The Grand Naine (G9) and Cavendish varieties are our primary export products. They are highly sought after in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe for their uniform size, long fingers, and excellent shelf life.

Bananas are packed in 13.5kg or 18.5kg telescopic corrugated boxes. Each bunch is protected with polyethylene foam or 'polytubes' to prevent bruising. Under proper reefer conditions, they have a shelf life of 25 to 30 days.
